SWANSEA STAFFORDSHIRE BULLTERRIER RINGCRAFT CLUB. RULE SHEET FOR 2,003

1. Objectives. The Swansea Staffordshire Bullterrier Ringcraft Club was formed to educate Members in aspects pertaining to theirs and canine showing skills. Profit from Matches, functions or related activities by the Club will be used for only that purpose The Club shall be under the management of a honorary Committee, appointed at the AGM. Only paid up Members present shall be appointed or entitled to vote for the position of Chairman; Vice Chairman; Secretary; Assistant Secretary; Treasurer; and 10 Committee Members. Membership is open to an unlimited number of people living within a 40-mile radius of Swansea.

 

2. Annual General Meetings. The AGM to be held before March 1st. Items for inclusion on the Agenda to be with the Secretary by November 30th. Agendas and Account Sheets will be circulated at the Meeting. Only resolutions placed on the Agenda, of which prior notice has been given to the Hon Secretary, will be discussed unless deemed urgent in the opinion of the Chairman. The Secretary will give his report on the events of the past year to the Meeting. Officers serve a 3-year term before reelection. Committee Members retire annually but are eligible for reelection annually. The Committee and its Officers shall have one vote on each subject. The Chairman may not vote except in the event of a tie, where he/she has the casting vote. The positions of Officers and Committee Members must be by written ballot. Notice of the A G M to appear in the Swansea Evening Post one month before the date of the Meeting.

 

3. Rules. The Rules of the Club may not be altered - except at the AGM or a Special General Meeting called for that purpose. The notice of the Meeting must contain details of the proposal to alter the Rules. No alteration shall be operative until approved by the Kennel Club. The Kennel Club is the final authority on the interpretation of the Rules.

 

4. Quorums. A quorum for Committee Meetings shall be seven. (7)

 

5. Acknowledgements. The Club's Officers acknowledge that during the month of January each year Maintenance of Title fee will be forwarded to the KENNEL CLUB by the Secretary for continuance of Registration and that amendments to the Officers and Committee and any proposed amendments to the Rules of the Society shall also be notified. The Clubs Officers acknowledge they must notify the Kennel Club of the Swansea Staffordshire Bullterrier Ringcraft Club's Annual General Meeting Date and to notify the Kennel Club of any amendment to that date. The Clubs Officers also acknowledge their duty to inform the Kennel Club of any changes to the Secretary of the Society which may occur during the course of the year.

 

6. Bank Account. A Bank Account shall be held in the name of the Club at Lloyds Bank, Market St, Swansea into which all revenues of the Club must be paid. Withdrawals only made upon the signatures of the Secretary and Treasurer. The financial year of the Club shall be from the 1st Jan to 31st Dec.

 

7. Annual Subscriptions. Membership shall be £2.00 single; £3:00 double annually; under 16 years of age free, but with no voting rights. Members whose subscriptions are unpaid will not be entitled to any privileges of Membership. Any Member failing to pay outstanding subscriptions later than 14 days after the Annual General Meeting shall have his/her name erased from the register. Acceptance back on to the register is subject to a new application to the Committee where a two-thirds majority vote in favour is required for acceptance back onto the Clubs register.

 

8. Membership. Once a person has been accepted for Membership providing they continue to pay their subscriptions at the correct time, they cannot be refused RENEWAL of Membership. With the exception of default on subscriptions, the only way to remove a member from the Club register is by following the procedure defined in Rule11. The names, addresses and phone numbers of members of this Club must be available to the Kennel Club upon demand. In addition, an up to date list of members made available for inspection by the Kennel Club upon demand and to members of the Club by request.

 

9. Special General Meetings. (Hereafter SGM) Are summoned by the Hon Secretary if 12 members send a signed requisition stating the subject to be discussed and requesting a SGM to do so. The Committee of the Society is also empowered to call a Special Meeting. No business other than that detailed on the Agenda can be discussed at a SGM. Upon receipt of an application for a SGM, the Secretary shall motivate the Rule, which applies to all Special Meetings and give at least 14 days notice in writing to all Members.

 

10. Minutes. The Secretary shall take and keep Minutes of all Meetings in a book kept for that purpose; such Minutes shall be read out at the following Meeting and if approved signed by the Chairman. The Secretary will arrange all the functions carried out by the Club attend to its correspondence and carry out the decisions of the Committee. All expenses incurred by the Secretary, in pursuance of his duties can be submitted to the Committee and if approved charged to the Club.

 

11. Kennel Club Rules A42.j.(5) /A42.j.(9) Any Member who shall be suspended under THE KENNEL CLUB Rule A42.j. (5) and /or any member whose dog (s) is/are disqualified under KENNEL CLUB Rule A42.j.(9) shall ipso facto cease to be a Member of the Society for the duration of the suspension and/or disqualification. If the conduct of any Member shall, in the opinion of the Committee of the Society be injurious or likely to be injurious to the character or interests of the Society, the Committee of the Society may, at a Meeting the notice of which convening which includes as an object the consideration of the conduct of the Member, determine that a Special General Meeting of the Society shall be called for the purpose of passing a resolution to expel him/her. Notice of the Special General Meeting shall be sent to the accused Member, giving particulars of the complaint and advising the place, date and hour of the Meeting that he/she may attend and offer an explanation if at that Meeting, a resolution to expel is passed by a two thirds majority of the members present and voting, his/her name shall forthwith be erased from the list of Members, except that he/she may within 2 calendar months from the date of such a Meeting appeal to the Kennel Club upon and subject to such conditions as the Kennel Club may impose.

 

12.  Appeals. The Kennel Club shall be the final court of appeal in all matters of dispute. If a member is expelled by this Club for discreditable conduct in connection with dogs, Dog Shows, Trials or Competitions, the Club must report the matter in writing to the Kennel Club within seven days and supply any particulars required. No person whilst an un-discharged bankrupt may serve on the Committee or hold any other office or appointment within a Kennel Club Registered Society.

 

13. Federation of Clubs or Societies. The Swansea Staffordshire Bull Terrier Ringcraft Club shall not join any Federation of Clubs or Societies.

 

14. Demise. The property of the Club shall be vested in the Committee. In the event of the Clubs demise, a General Meeting shall be called to decide the disposal of the Club's assets; the outcome of the Meeting notified to the Kennel Club. All property and money will be held for one year and if possible returned to their donors. Where this is not possible, the property and money shall be disposed of as the Committee decides.

      Any money remaining, after all commitments have been met shall be given to a Staffordshire Bullterrier Rescue Charity, decided upon by the Committee. A record of the disposal of the property of the Club shall be forwarded to the Kennel Club within six months of its demise. The persons named as Officers and Committee of the Club will be held responsible by the Kennel Club for the proper winding up of the Club.
